Our Pastor -- Rev. Paul Willweber
Pastor Willweber was born on February 24, 1968 in Mission Hills, CA. On March 24, 1968 he was baptized into the Christian faith at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church. He grew up in Granada Hills, a community of Los Angeles. He received a degree in Communication from Concordia College in Seward, NE in 1991. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1995 with a Master of Divinity and was ordained. His first call was to serve as the assistant pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa, TX. In 1998 he was called to Prince of Peace, where he continues to serve as pastor.
In 1996 he married Sara Dodge, who is from Huntington Beach, CA. God has blessed them with four children. Their oldest son, Ryan, was called to his eternal home in heaven when he was 17, having died in a car accident on April 30, 2015. Cory graduated from San Diego State University in 2021 and is now attending Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN in order to become a pastor. Katy is attending San Diego State University. Sean is attending Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA.
Pastor and his family love traveling. He particularly enjoys music, reading, TV, movies, theology, language, and sports. He is a life-long L.A. Laker fan and a hardcore Padre fan.
Our Organist and Choir Director -- Stephen Akina
Born and raised in Honolulu, Stephen’s love for music began at an early age playing piano.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii and graduate work at San Diego State University in music.
His interests include early church musicology, writing music, working in his garden and spending time with his wife, Kimberly.
Stephen has served as our church organist and choir director since 1999.
Terese Smullen serves Prince of Peace as secretary.
Our Custodian and Groundskeeper
Steven Smullen maintains our facilities and grounds.
